As communities focus on charity this thanksgiving, we have a unique opportunity to help Ron Paul. Let’s show others that we don’t need the government to force us to help each other and that Ron Paul and his message have inspired us to aid our fellow man. If you give money, do it in Dr Paul’s name. If you give food to a food drive, attach a Ron Paul card. If you volunteer, wear a Ron Paul shirt. Give generously, and have a great thanksgiving!

Have you heard of this “Ron Paul” guy? I haven’t seen much about him in the news. I think he’s a dog catcher or gold salesman or something like that. Apparently, he’s running for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination, and he just won the Illinois straw poll… Texas Congressman Paul won 52 percent of the combined 3,649 online and in-person votes cast between October 29 and Saturday evening… Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney earned 7 percent of the online votes cast and 35 percent of the in-person votes… Businessman Herman Cain won 15 percent of the online vote and 29 percent of the in-person vote. It’s no wonder the media hasn’t been paying attention to this young 76-year-old upstart. The Illinois contest is only the fifth state straw poll he’s won in the last two months… Paul took second place in the Ames Straw Poll in August, finishing just 1 percentage point behind Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann. Paul won a Values Voter Summit straw poll in October and a California Republican Party straw poll in September. On Saturday, October 22, Paul garnered 53 percent of the votes to win an Ohio GOP poll. Last weekend, Paul won an Iowa straw poll at the National Federation of Republican Assemblies in Des Moines, Iowa with 82 percent of the votes. I don’t know who this Ron Paul character is, but he doesn’t sound like a promising candidate to me. Why is the media wasting all this time reporting on his straw poll victories when they could be profiling Jon Hunstman’s hair products or Newt Gingrich’s Tiffany bills?
Ron Paul and Jon Huntsman Torture GOP with Sane Foreign Policy Views

I once thought Marxist constitutional law professor Barack Obama was going to abide by the Geneva Conventions and bring back the rule of law, yet Saturday evening found the Republican presidential candidates discussing <del>bombing foreigners</del> foreign policy, so clearly torture is still practiced in the United States. But just Who Would Jesus Waterboard, according to the candidates who participated in the partially-televised, partially-smoke-signaled South Carolina debate?

According to supposed crazy person Ron Paul, who was allowed to speak for a total of 90 seconds in the first hour of the debate (for how can you allow disagreement in a debate?), not even Ben Bernanke and the Federal Reserve Board deserve torture…

Well, waterboarding is torture. It’s illegal under international law and under our law. It’s also immoral. And it’s also very impractical. There’s no evidence that you really get reliable evidence. Why would you accept the position of torturing 100 people because you know one person might have information? And that’s what you do when you accept the principle of torture. I think it’s uncivilized and has no practical advantages and is really un-American to accept on principle that we will torture people that we capture.

Oh, that crazy uncle Ron. Every real Republican knows our government is incapable of providing health care and education, incompetent at regulating environmental pollutants, ineffective at constructing infrastructure, feckless in its attempts at consumer protection, and inept at conducting basic scientific research, but it’s constitutionally impossible for the government to make a mistake when it comes to deciding which person to execute, assassinate or torture. This makes perfect sense. Like when I refuse to let my nephew handle a steak knife, because he’s a first-grader, but trust him to conduct open-heart surgery, because what’s the worst that can happen?

We diminish our standing in the world and the values that we project, which include liberty, democracy, human rights, and open markets, when we torture. We should not torture. Waterboarding is torture. We dilute ourselves down like a whole lot of other countries. And we lose that ability to project values that a lot of people in corners of this world are still relying on the United States to stand up for them.

That’s the worst that can happen, according to Jon Huntsman. Doesn’t sound so bad. Maybe I’ll get my nephew that scalpel for Christmas after all.

While the media continues to speculate on who can win and who can’t, they seem to ignore the candidate who has created the most positive interest – Ron Paul. Quick searches on google trends, Alexa and YouTube make it obvious that Ron Paul has generated more interest than all the other GOP candidates. For the amount of news coverage he gets, he has more interest than anybody – even Obama. His website has more visitors than Lady Gaga. Ron Paul is truly the “rock star” of politicians. In the last month he has been googled in the United States more than -

Linkin park
Metallica
Green day
50 cent
Kesha
Captain America
Thor
Spiderman
Superman

In the last 12 months he has been googled more than
George clooney
Russel Crowe
Brad Pitt
Denzel Washington
Johnny Depp
Lucy Pinder
Hugh Hefner
Ryan Gosling
Ashton Kutcher
Miranda Kerr
Blake Lively
Ryan Reynolds
And possibly the most surprising of all, Twilight stars
Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson

And yet some believe without major media coverage, Ron Paul can’t win.

Is this really true? I think some of us have become so used to losing, we have lost faith in our cause. Those of us who have been around long enough to watch as the emperor bought his invisible clothes have warned deaf ears for years to no avail.

But the emperor is out in the open now, naked for everyone to see. A new generation is less worried about making excuses for the mistakes they made in the past and more focused and the future. Their eyes are open, and they don’t like what they see.

But how can we do it without the help of major media? Many Americans don’t know who Ron Paul is, and might not before election time. Many more Americans won’t vote for someone they think won’t win. How do we convince the country that Ron Paul can win?

MAKE THEM SEE US!

There are millions of Ron Paul supporters here, but the majority of us are hiding in our homes keeping to ourselves. We need to do these 3 things.

1. GET OUT -
Computers are great. We all can do a lot of Ron Paul work online. But that won’t be as affective in our own communities as getting out in the real world and representing our man. Be active. Go to stores, malls, parks, concerts – whatever. Go out and represent Ron Paul.

2. STAND OUT -
This is the most important thing I think we can do. Start wearing Ron Paul shirts everywhere. Signs in your yard, in your window, and on your car. Every Ron Paul supporter needs at least one item or apparel that they are wearing frequently IN PUBLIC. The more interesting, the better. If you can avoid boring colors, even better. There are is a lot of stylish Ron Paul apparel.

Think about it this way. If you walk through a mall and see thousands of people, how many of those do you think notice you? There is nothing better than actually wearing Ron Paul on a shirt or hat to get people to notice he really does have supporters.

The other advantage is that every time another Ron Paul supporter sees you, they get more pumped up and energized. How many times have you seen someone driving with a Ron Paul bumper sticker and suddenly felt a little more proud? Get the signs. Get the clothes. Get out.

3. SPEAK OUT -
We have all seen the shirt, “Ask me about Ron Paul”. Be proactive. Go out and ask other people about Ron Paul. You don’t even have to try to convert them. Just approach with a smile and say “Hi, can I get your opinion real quick? What do you think about Ron Paul?” If it helps, carry a pen and pad and right down their answer as if you are taking a poll.

If that like Ron Paul, tell them congratulations and ask them why they aren’t wearing their Ron Paul shirt today.

If they don’t know about Ron Paul, simple say you like him a lot and they should learn more about him sometime. If they ask questions, answer them, but don’t preach to them if they don’t ask interested. Being mysterious creates curiosity and there will be a lot of other chances for them to learn. The important thing is for you to show that Ron Paul has a lot of friendly supporters.

If they say they don’t like him, just say with a smile “Thank you, have a nice day!” and walk away. Never argue. That makes people defend what they might only loosely believe. Being friendly and respectful will carry the most weight and they are more likely to be open minded next time.

Remember, don’t worry about the battle as much as the war. Plant seed and let them grow.

So to recap- Get out, stand out and speak out! Show the world that we are here and we aren’t going away. Have fun and stay positive. The revolution is very much alive!
